About this trip

This 11 day journey will take you up close & personal with the beautiful and world recognized artisan traditions and customs of Guatemala. This inspirational trip will bring us in touch with a true local experience through workshops and hands-on activities done in collaboration with artisans, women weavers, farmers, fishermen and local families.

Through story telling and shared knowledge, we will be learning about Maya cosmovision and spirituality, natural dyes and textiles, medicinal plants and healing, ceramics and primitive arts and visiting archaeological monuments, local markets and enjoying the lush green surroundings of Lake Atitlán, picturesque and colorful Antigua and uncharted beach in El Paredón.

Sustainability

At Etnica we create business opportunities for active members of developing communities in Guatemala through fair trade, local empowerment, community tourism and sustainability. We invite you to discover culture by experiencing it and encourage you to interact with local communities and learn about the traditions and cultural heritage that make them unique while travelling our beautiful country. We offer tailor-made experiences, tours and workshops with local operators; such as community tour guides, artisans, farmers, fishermen and families in their beautiful surroundings. If you are a hands-on travel enthusiast; we welcome you to learn from the best and participate in real and authentic cultural encounters while minimizing your footprint in each destination you visit with us.
