A day in the life of a Gili Eco Warrior varies hugely
Waste management projects:
Working at Bank Sampah Gili Indah processing the 1000’s of plastic bottles used and wasted on Gili T every day
Working in the heart of Gili Trawangan on the dump, collecting un-biodegradable glass and crushing it to make construction bricks
Orientating tourists and divers in weekly beach cleans
Creating upcycled jewelry, educational signs from upcycled wood
Building turtle nest protection cages
Helping create and sink moorings and buoys so boats don’t anchor and crush coral
Helping organise fundraising events
Assisting on zero-waste workshops with tourists or local kids
Cat care clinics – take care, cleaning and cuddling rescue cats at the cat hospital
Beach bottle binges – collecting valuable plastics that have washed up on the beach to be processed and sold
Taking tourists on eco snorkel tours on the coral restoration projects
Taking tourists on Debris Free SUP paddle board tours
Assisting in horse clinics
Collecting tourist survey data on green practices on Trawangan

Sustainability
All projects involve upcycling trash that we find dumped illegally or on the dump.
All voluntary positions are unpaid and extendable.
Totally non-government funded and not for profit organisation.
Projects are supported by donations from divers, tourists, grants and from local dive shops
What’s Included
Protective gear (masks, gloves, mesh bags etc) and materials for building, events, painting
What’s Not Included
Protective footwear (closed trainers), accommodation and food

Minimum 2 weeks – 6 months
